The Rolando McClain experiment in Baltimore is over, as the former linebacker has pulled the plug on his career full of knuckle-headed mistakes. “Rolando let me know that he plans to retire from the NFL,” Ravens general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome said. “We have placed him on the Reserve/Retired list.” A once promising career is now over at the age of 23. Well… that didn’t take long. WHNT in Huntsville, Al. is reporting that Rolando McClain has been arrested Sunday night for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. This latest development will mark the second time McClain has been arrested this offseason. Witnesses told WHNT that McClain was with a large group of people in a park and refused to leave when ordered by police. RAVENS SIGN LB McCLAIN  The Baltimore Ravens have officially signed LB Rolando McClain to a one-year deal, general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced. McClain, who passed a physical Friday, has spent his entire three-year NFL career with the Oakland Raiders after being selected in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2010 Draft. Seeing action in 41 career games (38 starts), the 6-4, 259-pounder has posted 274 tackles (195 solo), 6.5 sacks (-42.5 yards), one interception, one forced fumble and 23 passes defensed. It appears the Ravens and three-time Pro Bowl special teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo are parting ways. Once officially released, the Ravens will have to eat $266,666 in dead money; however, they’ll save $1.762 million over the remaining two-years of the three-year extension Ayanbadejo signed prior to the start of the 2012 season. Billy Cundiff will once again have an opportunity to shorten a Harbaugh’s Super Bowl run. Earlier today, the San Francisco 49ers signed the former Ravens kicker to compete with their struggling kicker David Akers. Much like Cundiff has done before, Akers is following a Pro Bowl season with one that will potentially cost him his job. Bryant McKinnie’s debt is becoming more massive than he is. Once again, the Ravens backup left tackle is in the news and it should come as no surprise it’s once again about money. NBC Miami has reported the father of rapper Trick Daddy, Charles “Pop” Young, is suing McKinnie for negative debt incurred between February 2009 and September 2010. Ed Reed joined Glenn Younes on 105.7 The Fan live from the Greene Turtle in Owings Mills on Wednesday. Reed was filling in for Lardarius Webb on the Lardarius Webb Show as the star cornerback is awaiting surgery, which he will undergo no later than tomorrow.
