Some of you may be familiar with This Week in Baseball, a recap of the goings on in Major League Baseball. It’s a convenient way to catch up on things you may have missed.

Borrowing from that concept, we will do the same here for the Baltimore Ravens with a new feature called This Week on Russell Street (creative, right?)

Without further ado (not adieu)…

FILMSTUDY

The Ravens 23-3 win over the San Francisco 49ers during their 2014 Preseason Opener impressed many. But Ken McKusick, aka “Filmstudy”, is a difficult analyst to impress. Get his take on the game and the grades he dished out for the individual performances.

ON THE 5′S

Here’s a look at 5 takeaways from Preseason Game 1, both good and bad plus a few other observations including the play of Tyrod Taylor.

WE TALKIN’ ABOUT PRACTICE?

Many fans, once they’ve had the opportunity to see a preseason game, will quickly draw conclusions about the progress of individual players. But is that fair? Can one game with a limited amount of snaps really give you the complete picture of each player’s progress?
