Too Busy

Life

A friend of mine just passed away the other day at 39 years old. He was healthy and full of life and dropped dead of a massive heart attack. For all of our great plans in LIFE we truly don’t have any real control over our destiny. More often than not we are so BUSY trying to accomplish things that we never take the time to stop and appreciate what we have.

One night on January 13th 1990 I got a phone call from my dad around 10pm at night. He called to talk to me and I was TOO BUSY to pick up the phone. He called me 3 times and when I finally got on the phone I cut him off to tell him I can’t talk because I was TOO BUSY and if we could talk in the morning. Reluctantly, he said OK and hung up the phone.

Three hours later my dad died and to this day I never knew what he wanted to tell me.

It’s easy to be BUSY but it’s hard to stop and realize that life is way too short and all the great plans we have has nothing to do with how our lives will eventually play out. My dad’s name was Martin “Scoops” Scaffidi and one day I hope to tell his wonderful and inspirational story to the world.

I truly am honored to be working with Joe Unitas, Chris Braun and Oley Sassone in producing the great story about a great American Football Player and my hero – Johnny Unitas.

Unitas and Scoops would be proud!

Great post. I just emailed my family and told them how much I loved them.

Thanks for sharing and helping me appreciate what I have. SO many of us, envy others. Yet we don’t even realize how many wish they had what we do.

    God bless.

Thank you for opening up so I know that I need to slow down and just let everything worthless go. I’ve been juggling work and school for a while. I also have a girlfriend and a life but I continue to forget my parents and the rest of my family.

Deep truth for sure…We spend most of our time dealing with self, but look around sometimes, there’s a whole world going on around you…So make the best of every day and show your love for the ones that mean the most to you…We only get one shot at this life and then on to eternity…
Give some thought to where you choose to spend it, it’s not a hard decision to make…
    God Bless

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
