OFFENSE STRUGGLES EARLY

Share
Reading Time: < 1 minute
Today’s practice was
closed to the public and outside of the media, only corporate sponsors
were allowed to witness team activities on the field at McDaniel
College.  The team wore full pads this morning.  Among the missing in
action today were: Haloti Ngata (in attendance and watching closely),
David Pittman (hamstring), Jonathan Ogden (personal reasons) Clarence
Moore (groin) and Musa Smith (illness).

Mark Clayton
returned to practice as did Dan Cody.  After a one on one match up
against Samari Rolle during which Clayton drove Rolle downfield on a
short comeback route, Ed Reed shouted from across the field, “Oh is
that 89?!?  Is that Mark Clayton?  Good to be fresh legs!”

Cody showed no signs
of the sprained ankle and actually turned in one of his better
performances since camp opened.  He successfully bull rushed by left
tackle Adam Terry (taking first team reps in place of the still missing
Jonathan Ogden) and Rob Droege.

The offense,
particularly the wide receivers, looked out of sorts today while
dropping several passes during various drills and this raised the ire
of receivers coach Mike Johnson: “Too many drops!  Three drops this
period!”

Jim Fassel was also
frustrated at times by the offense’s lack of focus and chastised the
unit frequently early on during the session…
