Baltimore Ravens CB Corey Ivy is in stable condition at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he is expected to stay for testing and observation for an injury to his kidneys at least through today and tomorrow.
Ivy entered the hospital this morning after the Ravens’ charter flight from Denver made a landing in Pittsburgh. Ravens head team physician, Dr. Andy Tucker, is with Corey. Here is Dr. Tucker’s explanation of the situation:
“Corey was evaluated on the field a number of times after he was hit during a punt return in the third quarter. He was examined again after the game, including with X-rays. His status changed during the flight when his discomfort became more significant. Although he was stable, we decided that we should get him to a hospital, where more sophisticated testing could be given, sooner rather than later. Corey is in stable condition, resting, and he’ll continue to be examined by renal specialists today. He could stay here (Presbyterian Hospital) for up to three days for further testing and observation.â€
