CAMP NOTES FROM THE SCIENTIST

Share
Reading Time: < 1 minute
– It was interesting to see Mason lined up in the slot on a couple of plays. I think that he will be an ideal fit inside on certain plays, although all three receivers can work out of the slot.

– Jarret Johnson looked good in coverage situations. He was able to stay stride for stride with Heap and Sypniewski within the flat area. Now, take him further down the field against these guys and he probably doesn’t hold up as well.

– McNair had some zip on his throws.

– Boller was throwing the ball into extremely tight spots during the drills. At one point, he threw the ball in-between four defenders. Granted, he completed  3/4 of these attempts, but he won’t be able to force the ball into these same types of areas in game situations.

– Rolle had a good day in coverage. I thought he played particularly well against Mason on a one-on-one play near the left sideline. Mason ran a flag route and Rolle forced Mason toward the sideline, but McNair perfectly placed the ball so Mason could grab it falling backward, away from Rolle. Mason ended up dropping the ball.
