The Baltimore Ravens and Hearst have agreed to terms on a new four-year contract, starting in 2008 and ending in 2011. WBAL Radio (1090 AM) and 98 Rock (97.9 FM) will continue to broadcast all Ravens games, and WBAL-TV now will air Ravens preseason games and the lineup of all Ravens television shows throughout the year, including specials on the NFL Draft and the team’s training camp.
“We are thrilled with the opportunity to paint the top of Television Hill purple through a cooperation between radio and TV stations,†said Ravens vice president, corporate sales Mark Burdett. “The Hearst stations have been top-rated over the course of many years across many different key demographics. We are excited to work with people who understand the importance and value of the Baltimore Ravens brand throughout the state of Maryland.â€
The new broadcast team on WBAL-TV will follow the Ravens year-round, providing in-depth reports and all-access information.
The unique partnership allows WBAL-TV to promote the team’s radio programming on WBAL Radio and 98 Rock and for the radio stations to promote the Ravens television shows to be aired on WBAL-TV.
