Stone is a former University of Maine player who played primarily on special teams in Baltimore last season. The Ravens withdrew Stone’s exclusive-rights free agent tender April 9, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Stone, who was drafted in the sixth round by the Atlanta Falcons in 2007, was arrested and charged with DUI last summer. He didn’t make the Falcons’ regular-season roster after going to training camp.
Stone also had a brief stint with the Dallas Cowboys last season before joining the Ravens halfway through the season.
Stone drew a costly penalty during the fourth quarter of the Ravens’ AFC title game loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, being penalized 15 yards for throwing Steelers cornerback Anthony Madison out of bounds.
The penalty angered and disappointed teammates and coaches.
