The Ravens had until 9 p.m. tonight to get their roster
down to 53 players and began making moves prior to their morning walk-through.
According to former 24×7 contributor Aaron Wilson, now with
the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens have
cut the following players:
Offense:
TE- Matt Balasavage
TE/FB – Bruce Figgins
G/T – Jack Cornell
RB – Anthony Allen
QB – Curtis Painter
WR – Dorian Graham
G/T – Cord Howard
G – Antoine McClain
WR – Logan Payne
G – Tony Wragge
Defense:
S – Omar Brown
LB – Nigel Carr
LB- Chavis Williams
DL- Terrence Moore
DL- Nicolas
Jean-Bapitste
NG- Ishmaa’ily
Kitchen
LB – Josh Bynes
DE – Terrence Moore
S – Cyhl Quarles
Following the 9:00 PM deadline, over 704 NFL players
have been released and teams will begin to place claims for practice squad
players. The Ravens have the 28th overall priority on any claims
they place on players due to their record from last season.
Even though they were cut, players that were released but
could be on the practice squad are:
G/T – Jack Cornell
LB – Nigel Carr
LB – Chavis Williams
S – Omar Brown
NG – Ishmaa’ily Kitchen
LB – Josh Bynes
Sixth-round pick WR Tommy
Streeter was placed on injured reserve (strained left foot). Streeter was a
long shot to survive final cuts and the move ensures the Ravens will have
another shot at retaining the speedy 6-foot-5 wide receiver.
Streeter can be best described as raw and if he can dedicate
his time away from the team on fundamentals such as route-running and catching,
he’ll have a good shot to impress coaches next season.
Offensive lineman Justin
Boren joined Streeter on IR. An undrafted free agent, Boren spent 2011 on
the practice squad, but was active in last year’s playoffs.
Bubble players making the team include defensive tackle Bryan Hall, who spent last season on
the Ravens practice squad. Offensive lineman Ramon
Harewood was in jeopardy of not making the team but apparently showed the
coaches enough during the preseason finale to earn a spot.
Other bubble players to make the squad include running back Bobby Rainey, cornerback Danny Gorrer and safety Christian Thompson.
Surprising many, the Ravens elected to keep linebacker Sergio Kindle on the roster.
The Ravens reached an injury settlement with running back Damien Berry, a 2011 undrafted free
agent who spent last season on the practice squad.
Tight ends Matt
Balasavage and Bruce Figgins,
along with linebacker Ricky Brown,
were all placed on IR as well.
