Fantasy Notes 2012
NFL’s 93rd Season Opener
Wednesday Night Special
Cowboys at Giants
This is the 100th regular season meeting between the Cowboys and Giants, dating back to 1960, Cowboys lead the series 56-41-2…Tony Romo threw for 538 yards, six TD’s, and one int in 2011 against the Giants…but will face them without his go to receiver , the injured TE Jason Witten who will be replaced by John Phillips…WR’s Miles Austin and Dez Bryant will play but will be slowed by injuries…WR Kevin Ogletree will see the ball as well…they face an injured Giant secondary missing starting CB’s Terrell Thomas and Prince Amukamura…Giants had nine sacks on Romo in 2011 and will try and put pressure on him again to protect their ailing and vulnerable secondary…even with the Cowboy receivers hurting, this is still a favorable fantasy match up for Romo, Austin, Bryant, and Ogletree as a week one sleeper…Eli Manning feasted on the 23rd ranked Cowboy passing defense in 2011 with 746 yards, 5 TD’s and one int., WR’s Hakeem Nicks will play through his injured foot, he and WR Victor Cruz are slam dunk starts all season and have the most favorable passing match up of any team in week one…new Giant starting TE Martellus Bennett is the TE sleeper of the week…Manning hit TE’s Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum for a combined 5 completions for sixty three yards and a score week 14 against Dallas…with all indications of a week one shoot out at the Meadowlands the RB’s in this one take a back seat
