With an anything but a convincing win against Cleveland behind us, it’s time to start looking ahead to a crucial Week 5 matchup against the 1-3 Kansas City Chiefs!
The Red Sea in Arrowhead is one of the greatest atmospheres in the NFL and it is always a harsh environment for opposing teams to go to battle there!
The Chiefs, who have played well over the last few years, have shown some weaknesses this year that the Ravens HAVE to exploit. And it all starts with starting QB Matt Cassel.
Cassel, who has only a 58.4 completion percentage, has been in the midst of an awful struggle under center. He dons a 70.4 QB rating which is 4th worst in the ENTIRE LEAGUE!! He is only better than Mark Sanchez, Brandon Weeden, and Ryan Tannehill. What a group… And not only is he having trouble completing passes, he can’t protect the football!
Cassel has turned the ball over more than any other QB in the NFL with 7 interceptions and 3 lost fumbles. That stat sounds absolutely appetizing to a Ravens defense that is notorious for making big plays and getting the ball! Ball-hawking Ed Reed has to be on high alert this week.
Many of Cassel’s struggles may be due to the fact that his weapons are few and far between. Dwayne Bowe is the only guy they have! That’s it, one guy! And you know what that means… no more Cary Williams on a stud WR! That could just be the thing that puts us over the edge this week. With Lardarius Webb matching up against Bowe, I’m guessing you won’t be hearing his name very often.
Our offense has a great reason to smile ear to ear this week. Kansas City is coming into this game with the 2nd worst point’s defense in the league as they are letting up an average of 34 a game! With the Ravens offense scoring about 30 points a game, another 30 point game looks to be on the radar!
There is no reason why our offense won’t produce like we have been. This new game plan has been unstoppable! We have the 2nd best offense in the NFL and are averaging 424 yards a game. Let’s compare those numbers to last year: 338 YPG. Almost a 100 yard gain from last year! Comparing these numbers to Kansas City’s, could a 40+ point game be looming?
Joe Flacco is the guy that should be looking forward to this game the most. The Chiefs’ Passing defense isn’t producing like it should be, and have only intercepted opposing QB’s twice. They have let up the 2nd most TD’s to QB’s. Flacco could have an absolute Field Day!!
With everyone complaining that Ray Rice isn’t getting enough touches, this might be the game for him too! KC is giving up over 115 yards a game to Running Backs and the goal line defense is one of the worst you will ever see.
Cam Cameron, if you are reading this article. Don’t pull a typical Cameron performance for us this week. Stick to what works. These Chiefs have done almost nothing on defense and Coordinators like you should be drooling over the opportunities that Sunday has! SO DON’T SCREW IT UP!
