Ed Reed joined Glenn Younes on 105.7 The Fan live from the Greene Turtle in Owings Mills on Wednesday. Reed was filling in for Lardarius Webb on the Lardarius Webb Show as the star cornerback is awaiting surgery, which he will undergo no later than tomorrow.

During the show, Reed told Younes that he’s been playing with a labrum tear and it may have been affecting his play on the field.

Tackling was an issue for Reed against the Dallas Cowboys. Reed missed a total of four tackles, which allowed the Cowboys to gain an additional 56 yards after first contact. As was the case for most of his missed tackles, Reed leads with his shoulder trying to knock players down versus extending his arms, lowering his head and wrapping up opposing defenders.

Reed has been playing with a nerve impingement in his neck and has been playing cautiously as he is just a bad hit away from a devastating injury. Whether Reed’s neck is a factor in his missed tackles is something only he could answer but regardless, adding a shoulder injury in the mix does not bode well for Reed.
