KIDZ KORNER: Hey Harbs! Where’s the passion? Where’s the killer instinct?

An earlier version of this article listed the wrong author. Joe Wedra is the correct author. Our apologies.

It has been about five years, John. FIve years of failing to finish and lack of emotion. John Harbaugh has coached this team for five years and has yet to produce a Super Bowl appearance when this team is more than capable of winning one. Don’t you think that the pride of Baltimore deserves more than “playoff appearances”?

Is John Harbaugh OK with losing two in a row? It sure seemed like it. During Harbaugh’s post-game presser, he showed absolutely no passion. It was almost like he wanted us to lose the game. He nonchalantly bounced off of questions and didn’t seem furious, like a Head Coach of the Ravens should be.

John Harbaugh thinks everything is alright. He thinks that “one loss doesn’t define a team”. Mr. Harbaugh thinks that this team is on track. He also believes that our team will go out and “try to win next week”, as he stated in his presser.

Fans all throughout Charm City will utter the same words, “5 straight playoff appearances”. Take off your Harbaugh blinders, Ravens fans. A playoff appearance is simply not enough.

Another great quote that many of us use is “ Cam Cameron must go.” Yes, this is an obvious statement; but let’s not forget who has the ability to give Cam the axe. Coach Harbaugh has let the CaMoron stay in Baltimore for five years. Why? Because in his mind, a playoff appearance is enough.

I look over to the West, and see a coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Coming into his first year as a Head Coach, Pete Carroll was told that he could never be a successful coach. Many said that he was too fiery to be a coach in the NFL. I knew as soon as Seattle made this move, they would be a force to be reckoned with.

Pete Carroll is John Harbaugh’s antonym. Pete Carroll is what some might call “crazy.” He is crazy, and that is why the Seahawks made the playoffs last year, and could go again this year. Carroll CARES about his team. He has the fire that an NFL Coach must have. He has the mind-set of “never be content.” Because of this, Pete Carroll and the Seahawks WILL win a Super Bowl in his tenure.

Ever wonder why the Ravens lack the aggression that teams like the Patriots and Steelers have? It’s all because of coaching. John Harbaugh is the prime example of being “too content.”

Take this previous loss as an illustration of Harbaugh’s ways. With 29 seconds to go, John Harbaugh still had one timeout and needed to get to about the 42 yard line to try a FG.

Sure, it probably wouldn’t work, but why wouldn’t it be worth a try? I understand that you don’t want to commit a turnover, but this is playing scared. Harbaugh has to tell his QB to go out there, and only make a pass that he is SURE he can complete. But alas, Flacco would take a knee.

John Harbaugh coaches scared.

This recent scenario could have gone either way, but this is just one of the many examples of Harbaugh and his staff playing afraid.

Five years now. Five years of scared, non-aggressive, and passive play. Last time I checked, coaches that coach the way Harbaugh does don’t win Super Bowls.

Hey Ozzie- is it time to shake things up? I sure wouldn’t be against it.
