Dennis Pitta signing his restricted free agent tender was the big news of the day, but it wasn’t the only news. The Ravens also announced that they have signed four undrafted free agent rookies.

Cornerback Moe Lee was brought in for a tryout and signed. He will try to make the team as a backup secondary player in a defensive backfield that has a lot of new pieces. Lee isn’t an overall speedster, but he had decent numbers during his college career at Utah. He played at California Community College in his first three years as a receiver, but switched to corner and started in 2012 at Utah.

Gary Walker, a safety from Idaho, was also signed. He started there and actually played very well. He finished his college tenure with 295 tackles, ranking on the top-15 list all time for Idaho football. The Ravens already have a decent stockpile of safeties, but it’s obvious why they wanted to get Walker. He is seemingly always around the ball, and might compete in training camp.

The biggest steal of these four comes with the signing of Meshak Williams, a defensive edge rusher that made a key impact during his time at Kansas State. He compiled 8.5 sacks in a great Big 12 conference and forced three fumbles. He played with new Ravens linebacker Arthur Brown on the other side of the Wildcats defense. One of his best games came in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against Oregon when he registered nine tackles, (seven solo). 2012 was a great year for Williams, and he may be the undrafted free agent that has the most potential.

The team also added one more receiver, Rashaad Carter, a small-school standout from Tusculum College. He was one of the best players to ever walk through the school’s doors, posting close to 3,000 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns, second-most ever for a Tusculum player. He will “take over” Tori Gurley’s spot on the roster, as Gurley was cut from the team.
