SNF Intro Will be Sizzling!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Football fans will have a new piece of eye candy to drool over as “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” is performed this season on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

For the first time since 2007, Faith Hill (and her legs) won’t be appearing on your TV sets to an opening theme full of product placement and a catchy jingle to encompass each week’s matchup. However, NBC did a fantastic job replacing hill, bringing on another musician that looks just as good as she sings, six-time Grammy Award-winner Carrie Underwood.

The NBC Sunday Night Football crew will kick off the season on a Thursday, airing the inaugural matchup for the 2013 season between your defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos. The Ravens will also have two other appearances on SNF, Thanksgiving evening against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Week 16 versus the New England Patriots.

Prior to being placed on IR with a designation to return last season, Ray Lewis was featured in the opener but disappeared shortly after his injury, when he was replaced by New York Jets center Nick Mangold. Lewis wasn’t the only injured player to receive the boot – injured cornerback Darrell Revis was also pulled from the intro after suffering a season-ending ACL injury.

Fear not Ravens fans, on this season’s into, NBC is still giving the team some love as Terrell Suggs will now be featured along with 12 other NFL superstars. Also appearing on the intro are Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald, Saints TE Jimmy Graham, Lions WR Calvin Johnson, Colts QB Andrew Luck, Broncos QB Peyton Manning, Giants QB Eli Manning, Packers LB Clay Matthews, Eagles RB LeSean McCoy, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware, Texans DE J.J. Watt and 49ers LB Patrick Willis.
