THURSDAY INJURY REPORT: Ravens vs. Vikings

Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback Christian Ponder suffered a concussion in the team’s overtime loss to Chicago last week, and was replaced by backup Matt Cassel. It looks like the former Kansas City Chief will also be lining up under center this week when the Vikings visit Charm City.

Cassel has started two games in his career against the Ravens, both while a member of the Chiefs. The first was the 2010 Wild Card playoff, a game in which the Ravens battered Cassel to the tune of 9/18 for 70 yards, 3 INT, 3 sacks, and a QB rating of 20.4. The Ravens won that game 30-7.

In Cassel’s second shot at the Ravens, he wasn’t much better. Playing at home again in Week 6 of 2012, he went 9/15 for 92 yards with 2 interceptions for a passer rating of 38.1. He was the main reason the Ravens were able to come out on top in that ugly one, 9-6.

To say that Cassel isn’t looking forward to playing the Ravens again – especially in their house – is probably a bit of an understatement.

However, this year’s Ravens have already lost to two backup quarterback’s – Cleveland’s Jason Campbell and Chicago’s Josh McCown – so Sunday’s result is anything but a foregone conclusion. If Adrian Peterson gets untracked against the Baltimore defense, all bets are off.

Here are the injury reports for Thursday’s practices:
