DRAFT PROSPECTS: Wide Receivers Recap

Share
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Here’s a quick recap of what we learned when looking at potential receivers the Ravens may target on draft day (click on the round to see the entire post):

Round One

The round that most Ravens fans want to see a receiver drafted is covered in this article. We spotlighted several options including Mike Evans from Texas A&M. You won’t find Sammy Watkins from Clemson in this article, but you’ll see three very viable candidates for the Ravens in the first round.

Round Two

We took in-depth looks at four prospects in this article. Should the Ravens go elsewhere in Round 1, this should be the round they pull the trigger and get Joe Flacco a playmaker. Allen Robinson, Jordan Matthews, and Jarvis Landry could all be targets here.

Round Three

If Ozzie and Co. haven’t selected a receiver by now, they almost certainly will in the third. Take a look at three very good options here, including the very quick Robert Herron from Wyoming.

Round Four

I have a favorite sleeper in this draft, who I spotlighted in this article. The team might not wait until this late in the draft to take a receiver, but this might be a good spot to grab some depth. Oklahoma’s Jalen Saunders is another player spotlighted here.

Round Five

Rutgers and Wake Forest are among the colleges that feature receivers who could be of interest here. The Ravens could use some unique options and they could find that type of player later in the draft. Brandon Coleman might be flying under the radar now, but you should know his name in the coming years…maybe in purple and black!

Rounds Six and Seven/UDFA

In this article, we looked at Dri Archer from Kent State and Matt Hazel from Coastal Carolina. Both are being talked about heavily leading up to the draft. One possesses speed and kick return ability and the other is more of a prototypical, fundamentally sound wide-out.

Stay tuned for our next position!
