Ravens running back Ray Rice was arrested during the weekend after an altercation with his fiancée at a casino in Atlantic City, according to published reports.

Rice was reportedly arrested, charged and released.

“We are aware of the Friday night situation with Ray Rice and his fiancée,” The Ravens said in a statement.

“We have spoken with Ray, and know that they returned home together after being detained.”

Both the Atlantic City Police Department and Revel Hotel Casino declined to comment on the situation, but Deadspin reported that Rice punched his fiancée after she spit on him and that she was knocked unconscious by the punch.

Rice is an advocate for anti-bullying and has participated in numerous anti-bullying events and programs.
