24×7 Networks, LLC, the parent company for RussellStreetReport.com and EutawStreetReport.com has announced that it has acquired Baltimore Sports and Life, LLC
24×7 Networks sees this as an opportunity to bring its unique fan-centric approach to sports coverage to another web property. The move enables 24×7 to provide expanded content for their audience while broadening its distribution for their customers.
Baltimore Sports and Life, LLC (BSL) is a media company dedicated to analysis and discussion on the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, and the University of Maryland. The site has a team of writers providing coverage of those teams, and houses 13+ hours of live streaming content weekly. BSL is a 5-time Baltimore Sun Mobbies Award winner.
BSL’s principal owner Chris Stoner explains the motivation that inspired the acquisition.
“My goal with Baltimore Sports and Life (BSL) was to add to the discourse, and eventually become a viable challenger to the existing hierarchy of local sports media. I’m confident that 24×7 Networks will take BSL to a new level, and I’m pleased to be a part.”
24×7 Networks’ Managing Partner Tony Lombardi also shared his take on the acquisition.
“We love Chris’ [Stoner] passion, commitment and work ethic and we believe those things, combined with BSL’s brand, our experience and a social media reach unparalleled in the area, that we can help fulfill Chris’ vision for BSL.”
There are no immediate plans to change the operating procedure for any of the three 24×7 properties in the short-term but Lombardi does expect a more integrated approach in the not-too-distant future.
“Our goal is to utilize our strengths, assets, web development capabilities and core competencies in a way that enables BSL to be seen by more people, in more ways while maintaining the personality of all properties. Ultimately the goal is to provide more and better content for local sports fans while delivering greater value for our customers.”
