Deonte Thompson is doing everything he can to make the Ravens roster.
The third-year receiver, locked in a battle for a final wide receiver roster spot, scored his second touchdown in two weeks in the Ravens’ 23-17 win over Washington at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday night.
Two weeks ago, coach John Harbaugh had said of the receiver competition: “Nobody has really separated themselves. … The games are going to be a big thing now. If practice doesn’t separate guys, then maybe the games will.”
Since Harbaugh said that, Thompson scored on a 108-yard kickoff return against Dallas and a 21-yard pass play against the Redskins. He also had a 50-yard kickoff return against Dallas.
“Deonte is making plays,” Harbaugh said. “It’s not just in games. He’s making those plays in practice. Deonte’s fought through lots of stuff over his career and seeing him do that just makes you happy.”
