Smith Approaching Top 10 in Rec Yards

Share
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Steve Smith Sr. is now 127 receiving yards behind Cris Carter, who has the 10th most receiving yards of all time. The Ravens’ problems haven’t come in one area, so they’ll have to fix quite a few different things to solve their problems. Anquan hints that the team was trying to target Shareece Wright, while Torrey is mum on that subject. Justin Tucker falls into a sinkhole. Steve Smith does a Pee Wee Herman touchdown dance.

Steve Smith Sr. Just 128 Yards Shy of Joining Career Top 10 Receiving Yards List

Steve Smith Sr. needs just 128 yards to jump ahead of Cris Carter to have the 10th most receiving yards of all time. With a big game in Arizona, Smith Sr. could achieve that mark, but he has to watch out for Andre Johnson, who has just 12 fewer yards than Smith.

Upon further review: Costly patterns dooming Ravens

Because it hasn’t been just one thing that has kept the Ravens from winning games this season, it’s been harder to have a positive outlook for the future. Clifton Brown of CSN Mid-Atlantic says that the key reasons for the Ravens’ woes are key interceptions thrown by Flacco, glaring breakdowns in the secondary, squandered opportunities, poor receiver play besides Smith Sr., and opposing receivers having big days. It hurt that much more yesterday since it was Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith carving up the defense.

What The 49ers Said After The Win

Ryan Mink of Ravens Media recaps what the 49ers were saying after the win, including Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin. Torrey said that it was “cool to see a lot of people that mean a lot to me, both on and off the field,” while Boldin made it clear that the 49ers were targeting the worst player on the field, Shareece Wright. I’ve said before that Torrey and the Ravens both miss each other this season, but I’m starting to think differently – the defense is the problem this year, so Torrey might not have helped that much.

How Baltimore literally dropped the ball in latest loss

If there was one problem for which you could blame the most against San Francisco, it would have to be dropped balls. Smith Sr. dropped two touchdown passes, Buck Allen couldn’t haul in one, and Jimmy Smith and Albert McClellan both dropped interceptions. Ugh. Bo Smolka of CSN Mid-Atlantic has more.

Justin Tucker falls into a field sinkhole

I have to admit that I was questioning Tucker after this missed field goal, but looking at it again, my mind has changed. What the hell is going on with the field at Levi Stadium? (Via Ryan Mink)
