Is Matt Schaub broken beyond repair? An NFL.com writer thought so last year. Cliff Brown gives us five facts and five questions heading into the Monday Night Football matchup at the Cleveland Browns. Matt Schaub had a good week of practice, or so John Harbaugh and Schaub himself say. Lastly, there will be a ton of inexperience on the field tonight.
Matt Schaub broken beyond repair?
This is an old article from the NFL.com archives (h/t Redditor /u/uniptf/). Chris Wesseling tells the tale of the downfall of Matt Schaub. He was a productive quarterback in Gary Kubiak‘s system, but he began to lack confidence in himself, and his performance fell off a cliff. When he moved outside of the cozy confines of Kubiak’s offense, it wasn’t pretty. Behind a below average offensive line in Oakland, he was awful.
This week, he plays behind a line that is without three of its starters.

Clifton Brown of CSN Mid-Atlantic gives us the five biggest things we should know heading into Monday Night Football. He tells us that the Browns’ run defense is the worst in the NFL, and their rushing offense isn’t too far off. That is the area that may be the key to winning this game.
Five questions for Ravens at Browns on MNF
Cliff Brown is asking questions this time. He wants to know how Schaub will perform as a quarterback, how Buck Allen will handle the starting job, and whether Josh McCown has the Ravens’ number. The answer to those questions will lead to the most intriguing question he asks, which will be answered tonight: Who’s the worst team in the AFC North?
Matt Schaub Has ‘Really Good’ Week Of Practice
Ryan Mink of Ravens media relay Harbaugh’s and Schaub’s messages about his week of practice. They both say that it went well. While you can take those comments with a big ol’ grain of salt, it is interesting to note that many of his receivers who will be out on the field with him are the ones with whom he has spent much time practicing. Granted, what we saw in training camp wasn’t impressive, but this is just about the only silver lining we can find.
