The Ravens have plenty of offseason needs to address, among them are speed rusher, wide receiver and guard. Press play to learn about a few prospects that could help the Ravens in 2016 or read on below…
With Kelechi Osemele’s expected departure guard Leon Brown out of Alabama may be of interest. The 6’6”, 320 pounder is said to keep his feet moving through contact and has the ability to get initial push in the run game while utilizing his mass to engulf B-gap blitzers.
At wide receiver the 6’, 178 pound Chuck Jacobs could fill a void. Jacobs from Utah State, runs a 4.4 forty and consistently finds the open space in the defense. He fights to make receptions, and catches the ball with his hands, adeptly adjusts to errant throws and makes receptions in stride.
And then there’s Nordly Capi, a 6’3”, 249-pound defensive end from Akron whose speed is said to jump out on film. Capi shows a good first step, quickness and a real nose for the quarterback. He proved to be more than capable against Big Ten tackles.
Brown, Jacobs and Capi could improve the Ravens roster in 2016.
But they won’t!
Why?
Because each is already a member of an NFL roster – that of the Baltimore Ravens.
Maybe these guys are not as smart as those they compete against. Maybe they don’t love the game as much and therefore aren’t as committed as their teammates. Maybe they’ve already reached their peak as athletes. Maybe they just haven’t been give a fair shot as of yet.
Maybe they just need a little luck.
Luck has been defined as the thing that happens when preparation meets opportunity.
If Brown, Jacobs and Capi are all prepared, given the Ravens needs, opportunity could present itself.
If they’re lucky!
