Talk About a Win-Win!
The Ravens and Dennis Pitta have agreed to a restructured contract that gives the oft-injured tight end a final chance to resurrect his career with the team while providing the Ravens with cap relief. Tony Lombardi opines on the topic and gives a prediction as to who could fall to the Ravens after the blockbuster Rams/Titans trade.
Fast Start
At first glance, the Ravens’ 2016 schedule is noticeably easier than last season. When the 2015 slate of games was released, we wondered whether John Harbaugh or Steve Bisciotti had gotten on the wrong side of someone in the league office. The first seven weeks were brutal, and so was the 1-6 record that followed it.
This season, the early part of the schedule looks favorable and it represents an invitation for a fast start according to RSR’s Ryan Jones.
Talk About It
Our forums were on fire this week and one of the hottest topics was the 2016 schedule. Check out what fans like you think about the slate of games for the Ravens this season.
Rams Bold Move Helps The Ravens
It happened, folks. Every pundit and fan just had their mock draft completely blown up. The Rams have traded up from the 15th pick to grab the 1st overall pick, and it didn’t come cheap despite this year’s less than stellar draft class.
In addition to the 1st pick, the Rams will receive a 4th round pick and a 6th round pick. The Rams trade away their 15th, 43rd, 45th, and 76th pick this year and their 1st and 3rd round picks next year.
Here’s what it means for the Ravens according to RSR’s Tyler Lombardi.
But It’s a Passing League
We hear it all the time – the NFL is a passing league.
And that invites this beaten to death cliché: “running backs are a dime a dozen”.
Maybe the average running backs are, but not this one.
We go to the Tale of The Tape with Kyle Casey to show why Ezekiel Elliott is worthy of a Top 10 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Next Tom Brady
We’ve heard rumblings of the Ravens plucking Stanford QB Kevin Hogan at some point during Day 3 of the 2016 NFL Draft. But what’s the point? Even in the most ideal conditions, the time that Hogan would be ready is about 2019, if then, AND by then, he could be free to sign elsewhere. We only need to look at former 6th round picks Derek Anderson and Tyrod Taylor for proof.
Opposing opinions will almost always point to the Patriots selection of Tom Brady in the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
Right, and such diamonds in the rough like this happen how often?
Don’t you think the chances of the Ravens finding the next Adalius Thomas are greater?
Tony Lombardi opines on why now is not the time to waste a draft pick on a developmental QB.
