40 most hated NFL players in history – #6 Ray Lewis
Bill Bender of Sporting News created a click-farm slideshow to get some offseason traffic, and Ray Lewis lands at the 6th most hated player spot. That isn’t surprising at all. No matter what the evidence looks like, many will still think that Ray Lewis is guilty of murder. To make things worse, some don’t appreciate his rah-rah attitude. Those people obviously don’t understand the importance of his leadership to the Ravens defense over the years. We love you, though, Ray. Never change!
CBA calls for fines, lost OTAs for offseason violation
In his criticism of the coaching staff’s judgment for allowing this to happen, Brian Bower briefly discussed the potential penalty yesterday, but we didn’t give a full picture of the potential punishment. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk does here. The next week of OTA sessions “shall be cancelled” according to the language of the CBA. Ugh.
Ravens Rookies: Kamalei Correa
Looking for an in-depth look at the Ravens’ 2nd-round draft pick? Mike Randall gives just that over at Baltimore Sports and Life. Randall highlights both Correa’s strengths and weaknesses, pointing out his tendency to play too high occasionally. That will cause him to struggle at the next level if he continues. Still, he shows good explosiveness and good hand technique. I’m excited to see him play.
Ravens earn B+ offseason grade with bevy of draft picks
We talked about Bill Barnwell’s poor analysis of the Ravens’ Cap situation in an earlier edition of Ravens Links. Now, PFF’s Gordon McGuinness is trying his hand. He has a much more positive take on the Ravens’ moves, and the Ravens’ large number of draft picks is the biggest reason why. More picks means more opportunities, and the Ravens drafted some intriguing players. If a few exceed expectations, Baltimore will be in good shape.
