The Fight Against Leukemia

The day John Harbaugh was introduced to the Baltimore media as the new head coach of the Ravens he made it very clear what he was all about.

Clearly Harbaugh’s philosophy is shared by the football team of Foothill High School in Palo Cedro, California and for them, “team” extends to the cheerleaders who support their efforts.

Before their game on September 3, the team honored Ashley Adamietz who was recently diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. Orchestrated by teammate Ryan Caetano, the team recognized the battle ahead for Adamietz and showed support by gifting her with orange roses, the color for leukemia awareness.

Take a look…

Caetano explained the rationale behind the gesture to KRCR-TV.

“She’s part of the cougar family, so why not let her know that we’re all here for her. We are. So I wanted to let that be known to everybody, and especially to her, for what she’s going through.”

Here’s to Ashley and her TEAM.

May they emerge victorious on the field this season and more importantly in their battle against leukemia.
