Plunge for those who protect our freedoms! On Saturday February 25th, Sunset Cove in Bowley’s Quarters is hosting a Penguin Plunge to support No Person Left Behind (“NPLB”), an organization that helps wounded warriors heal their emotional wounds in a way that many warriors understand and appreciate.
NPLB was founded by Americans that love this country for its founding values, its veterans and all they stand for. The sacrifices made by the men, women and families of our Armed Forces will never be forgotten. NPLB’s biggest objective is to show our returning warriors that they are loved, appreciated, and honored. I think they’ve earned it.
If you agree please show your support by making even a small donation at this link. The day promises to be a memorable and fun one, with Mix 106.5’s Jon Boesche on hand as Sunset Cove provides food and drink specials.

If you want to plunge and join our Russell Street Report team, please go to this link, sign up and in the comments section write, Team RSR. The cost per Plunger is $50 and includes a commemorative t-shirt.
The sign-in begins at noon and the Plungers take to the cool waters at 1 PM. Heated tents will be provided to take the chill off and Bowley’s Quarters Fire Department Rescue team will be on hand and in the water during the plunging.
Proceeds from the event and all donations go to NPLB Outdoors, which aids in the emotional recovery of our veterans through outdoor activities – by reintroducing them to hunting, fishing and other recreational interests with fellowship and the encouragement to overcome any disability.
That said, the NPLB program is about much more than showing disabled veterans they can still enjoy hunting and fishing. Giving our veterans an opportunity to share their wartime experience with those who have been there before, enables veterans to promote healing within their own ranks, just like taking care of a buddy on the battlefield.
Operation Second Chance’s, Operation NPLB program empowers disabled veterans to break away from the perceived frailty of their injuries and helps to invigorate their quality of life.
I hope can join Team RSR or at the very least make a small contribution to those who gave so much.
On behalf of all veterans and Team RSR, thank you so much for your time and consideration.
