Ravens unleash Joe Flacco

Buy/Sell/Steal Week 8

Emptying out the notebook:

Carson Palmer (broken arm) is out for the year; Jay Cutler (ribs) will miss one to two weeks; Delanie Walker (ankle) will miss about a month. Drew Stanton will replace Palmer, while Matt Moore fills in for Cutler.

Waiver wire pick-ups for the week: Marlon Mack (RB/Indy), JuJu Smith-Schuster (WR/Pit), Robert Woods (WR/Rams), Jonnu Smith (TE/Ten), Vernon Davis (TE/Was).

Andrew Luck has been shut down from throwing. He is just not worth a roster spot anymore.

It’s time to move on from the following players: Rob Kelly, Torrey Smith, Terrelle Pryor, and Eric Decker.

Marshawn Lynch is suspended for the week.

Martavis Bryant is disgruntled in Pittsburgh and is seeking a trade. Bryant is talented but he has not been a big part of the Steelers offense this year. He is worth a pick-up especially if he gets traded and becomes a more featured WR.

Teams on a bye: Green Bay, Tennessee, Rams, Giants, Arizona, Jacksonville

Miami at Baltimore kicks us off on Thursday night.

Minnesota and Cleveland play the last London game of the year. Kick off will be 9:30 am EST.

Denver at Kansas City finishes off on Monday night.

Ravens Fantasy Outlook

Joe Flacco: I really can’t believe I am writing this but desperate times call for desperate measures! The past two times Flacco has faced Miami he has averaged 18 points a game including a 381-yard and four TD performance last year. Since 2012, Flacco has also played in six Thursday night games and put up 17 or more points three times. Take it for what it’s worth, he will be a cheap and (maybe) productive option in DFS.

Ben Watson: The Dolphins have allowed 11 points per game to TE’s over the last three weeks.

Buy

QB: Carson Wentz: In his past two home games, Wentz has thrown four TD in each time while averaging 30 points.

Jameis Winston: Winston has topped the 300 yard mark in four of the past five games and has put up 17 or more points in each.

Other names: Derek Carr, Tyrod Taylor, Andy Dalton, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Dak Prescott, Kirk Cousins

RB: Devonta Freeman: With the Falcons passing attack sputtering this year and the Jets secondary playing pretty well, Freeman will be in line for a big game against the 28th ranked rushing defense.

Jay Ajayi: The Ravens are dead last against the run and have allowed 20 points to opposing teams RB’s in back to back games.

Other names: LeSean McCoy, Melvin Gordon, Mark Ingram, Alvin Kamara, Ezekiel Elliott, Le’Veon Bell, Kareem Hunt, Jordan Howard

WR: Dez Bryant: Bryant has posted double-digit fantasy points in three straight games. Make it four this week at home against the Redskins.

A.J. Green: Since Bill Lazor took over as OC, Green has seen 39 targets while averaging 20.5 points a game.

Other names: Jarvis Landry, Adam Thielen, Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan, Keenan Allen, Michael Thomas, Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, DeAndre Hopkins, Antonio Brown, Tyreek Hill

TE: Hunter Henry: Over the past three weeks, Henry has produced games of 13, 14, and 14 points.

Jack Doyle: Doyle has seen 25 targets over the last three games and has averaged 12 points. With Brisett having no time to look down field for his WR’s, Doyle has become his favorite target.

Other names: Kyle Rudolph, Jared Cook, Rob Gronkowski, Zach Ertz, Cameron Brate, Jason Witten, Travis Kelce, Austin Saferian-Jenkins

Def: Minnesota, Cincinnati, New Orleans, N.Y. Jets, Kansas City

Sell

QB: DeShaun Watson: As good as Watson has been since taking over as the starter, he has not had to travel to a place like Seattle. Look l really like Watson, I just see him struggling on the road this week and this maybe the last time he appears on this list.

Matthew Stafford: Stafford is hurt, he lost his number one WR, and now takes on the number one passing defense in the league.

Other names: Jacoby Brisett, Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson, Trevor Siemien, Alex Smith

RB: Lamar Miller: The Seahawks have held RBs under 50 yards in the last three games.

Carlos Hyde: On the road against an Eagles defense that is allowing 3.8 yards a carry and 67 yards a game.

Other names: Frank Gore, Doug Martin, C.J. Anderson, Ameer Abdullah, Joe Mixon

WR: T.Y. Hilton: Hilton has been held to 30 or fewer yards three of the past four games and has not found the end zone since Week 3.

Terrelle Pryor: Pryor was supposed to be the lead WR in Washington, but instead he is averaging six points a game.

Other names: Alshon Jeffery, Devin Funchess, Doug Baldwin, Demaryius Thomas

TE: O.J. Howard: Howard is only on this list because everyone is going crazy after his two-score game last week. Cameron Brate is still the lead TE in Tampa and saw more targets then Howard did (nine to six). Howard is intriguing but is still not worth a start.

Eric Ebron: As high powered as the Lions offense is, Ebron is not part of that equation. Over the last four games, he has six catches.

Other names: George Kittle, Ed Dickson, Jimmy Graham, Jordan Reed, Jesse James

Def: Buffalo, Carolina, Dallas, Denver, Detroit

Steals

QB: Josh McCown: McCown has posted 20+ points in back to back games.

RB: Marlon Mack: The Colts offense is struggling and the season is slipping away. For anything to happen they need big plays from their RBs and Mack has a ton of big play ability.

WR: Nelson Agholor: Agholor has three straight games of four catches and a score.

TE: A.J. Derby: Here is a deep sleeper as KC has allowed TEs 24 catches for 462 yards.

Def: Kansas City
