QB: Jameis Winston @ Atlanta
Winston begins his first start in 2018 in a money spot. The Falcons have been rocked by opposing passers to the tune of 327 yards and three TD a game over the last three games. Jameis Winston is an aggressive downfield thrower at heart which should mesh well with offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s aggressive approach. The Bucs’ running game is still trying to find their sea legs (Ronald Jones at 3,900 is still interesting to me…gross I know) and the Falcons will no doubt fight fire with fire in the passing game. Winston has top-5 upside this week, if not higher.

RB: James Conner @ Cincinnati
Steelers offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner said before last week he needed to get James Conner more carries and boy did he answer. He finished the day with 185 total yards and two touchdowns and will now travel to Cincy to face a Bengals team giving up a healthy 4.5 yards per carry. Cincinnati boasts one of the better pass rushes in the NFL and have traditionally been able to hold Antonio Brown and the Steelers under their projections in that Cover 2 shell.
I think Conner is looking at another full workload this week.
DraftKings salary: 7,700
RB: Christian McCaffrey @ Washington
The biggest draw here is the nearly seven receptions per game Washington gives up to running backs, a place where Christian McCaffrey excels. They’ve given up a middling 4.0 yards per carry on the season but haven’t faced a team that has the run game gravity that Carolina has with Cam Newton. Washington is coming off an uninspiring performance and have injuries at receiver. This could wind up being another lopsided affair giving McCaffrey a shot at multiple scoring chances and clock-killing volume.
DraftKings salary: 8,300
WR: Davante Adams vs. San Francisco
One of the league’s best and most consistent receivers, Davante Adams has a really good matchup this week. His smooth, separating style will give the 49ers’ long boundary corners difficulties. Move inside and he’ll give diminutive slot corner K’Waun Williams trouble with his size. His secure target share and plus red zone usage make him a very strong play.
DraftKings salary: 8,000
WR: Chester Rogers @ New York Jets
This is all about volume. The Colts pass catchers are dropping like flies. T.Y. Hilton won’t play, neither will Jack Doyle, and Eric Ebron is dealing with multiple injuries, putting his availability in question. The Jets have quality boundary corners and the Colts will be rolling out the likes of Ryan Grant and Zach Pascal in their crosshairs. Did I mention they can’t run the ball either? Chester Rogers could push for 15 targets.
DraftKings salary: 4,500
WR: Chris Godwin @ Atlanta
This is me doubling down on my Winston bet, finding an inexpensive piece to stack him with. Chris Godwin averages about five targets a game but in a high-scoring game where I expect Winston to push the ball downfield I think Godwin makes a big play or two versus a banged up secondary where even Desmond Trufant has had a couple rough weeks.
DraftKings salary: 4,400
TE: C.J. Uzomah vs. Pittsburgh
I have a thing for cheap tight ends. With injuries to Tyler Eifert and Tyler Kroft, C.J. Uzomah is the last man standing. The Steelers have been hammered by tight ends this season – only the Bucs give up more fantasy points per game to the position. This one isn’t very complex: Uzomah is big, fast and cheap.
DraftKings salary: 3,000
Flex: Dalvin Cook vs. Arizona
Dalvin Cook is slated to return in literally the best spot possible. The Cardinals have given up the most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in the entire league. Sure, they could lean more on Latavius Murray in Cook’s return but that was thought to be the concern at the beginning of the season and Cook enjoyed workhorse usage. A home favorite back with this level of talent for 5,700? Sign me up to take that risk.
DraftKings salary: 5,700
Defense: Titans vs. Baltimore
This is all about price for me but let’s be honest. The Ravens haven’t scored a touchdown in their last seven quarters and now travel to face an underrated Titans defense. I’m not expecting fireworks. You could easily go Ravens defense here but they cost you 700 more.
