Fantasy The King of Draftkings ~ Week 10

A last minute audible led to a pretty strong lineup last week…

We ended up with 184.44 DraftKings points thanks to nuclear performances from the Saints’ Alvin Kamara (33.60) and Michael Thomas (42.10), and the Rams Jared Goff (33.34) and Cooper Kupp (19.90) in defeat. Dallas laid an egg in a sweet home spot versus the Titans, leading to an underwhelming 15.20 from Zeke. Jordan Howard was short on yardage but punched in 2 TDs for most of his 16.70 points. Herndon gave me a solid 10.20 points, paying off his minimum. I swung and missed with Kenny Golladay (8.40) and the Broncos defense. A couple more kinks to work out but we’re moving closer to that dream lineup. On to week 10…

QB Philip Rivers @ Oak

This one has some risk of being just a solid play. The Raiders get rocked on the ground (4.8 yards per carry) so there’s a shot that Rivers’ attempts don’t leave the 20’s. However, he’s been so efficient and Oakland has been so bad I think the risk is worth taking here. The Raiders are giving up 9.1 yards per attempt this season, worst in the NFL. Even if he doesn’t see the ideal volume, he still stands a decent chance at 300 yards and 3 TD’s.

DraftKings salary: 6,000

RB Kareem Hunt vs. Ari

Hunt has been on a tear and he gets literally the best matchup he could ask for. No team in the NFL has given up more fantasy points to RBs than the Cardinals. If you suit and the Cardinals are the opponent, you pretty much just start the game with a touchdown. There is some risk here that this game gets out of control and Hunt is a spectator by the 4th quarter but even in that scenario, the damage he’ll do in the first three quarters is just too good to pass up.

DraftKings salary: 8,500

RB Jordan Howard vs. Det

Minus the two TD, Howard had a very underwhelming performance last week versus the Bills. He receives a big matchup upgrade this week so I’m going back to him. The Lions give up a robust 5.1 yards per carry and only four teams give up more fantasy points to the position. Detroit’s Tate-less debut didn’t inspire much confidence in their offense for the rest of the season. Going up against the Bears they’ll have a very difficult time running the ball and they are fresh off of giving up 10 sacks. I expect Chicago to control this game and Howard to push for 20 touches.

DraftKings salary: 4,700

WR Keenan Allen @ Oak

This is an easy stack. Allen should thrive versus the slot vulnerable…well everywhere-vulnerable Raiders. Allen is coming off a 124-yard game and has bankable weekly volume even if Rivers’ attempts stay on the low side. He’s averaged 6.4 catches for 73.5 yards per game in his career versus Oakland and I see no reason for that production not to continue.

DraftKings salary: 7,100

WR Mike Evans vs. Was

Everyone will be off Mike Evans after his one-catch stinker last week which will give us an advantage in tournaments. Despite the struggles, he still had 10 targets. Much like my thought process with Diggs last week before his injury news, I’m taking advantage of a stud at this price point while I have the opportunity. Especially versus a Washington team giving up the 9th most points to the position.

DraftKings salary: 7,000

WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling vs. Mia

Nobody will be off MVS. I’m typically not the wave-riding type but I’m all in here. Xavien Howard will likely shadow Davante Adams, leaving MVS to battle inferior corner options. Then there’s the whole weird Reshad Jones situation that could put safety coverage in question as well. Firmly implanted in the lineup (80 percent of the snaps last week), Valdes-Scantling should be looking at least 8 to 10 targets in this one.

DraftKings salary: 5,000

TE Jimmy Graham vs. Mia

Tight end is kinda ugly this week…well, all year but this week is especially blah for me. Really just going touchdown fishing here. I expect the Packers to roll and Graham had at least one red zone target in each of the last six games, including two last week (one went for a score). Since I don’t feel like paying up for Kelce or Ertz I’m going with the next guy I feel like has the best chance at the end zone.

DraftKings salary: 4,600

Flex Ito Smith @ Cle

This matchup almost feels too good to be true for the Falcons. I know I probably shouldn’t have said that but it does. I want to play them all but I’ll opt for some cheap exposure here in what should be a rout. Smith has essentially split carries 50/50 with Tevin Coleman and has just as good a chance at goal line work. 12 to 15 touches should be his floor in this one, I’m taking that every time at this price.

DraftKings salary: 3,700

Defense Jets vs. Buf

Opposing defenses score 21 points per game versus Buffalo. *Find the Bills opponent, play the Bills opponent*

DraftKings salary: 3,400
