Day 1 of Ravens Jaguars Joint Practice

Day 1 of the Ravens Jaguars joint practice was pretty low key practice, no fights (that I saw) and guys on both teams seemed to be taking care of one another

Offense

Offensive Line

1st team (from left to right): Stanley, Eluemunor, Skura, Yanda, Brown
2nd team (from left to right): Senat, Powers, Bozeman, Mekari, Hurst

Jermaine Eluemunor

Snaps as 1st team LG. Didn’t see any glaring negative plays, good matchup with Jags DE Marcell Dareus who got some penetration at times

Orlando Brown Jr

Tough matchup when Calias Campbell aligned across from him. Campbell beat Brown for one pressure

Ben Powers

Solid, got pushed back (still developing his anchor) one on rep by Taven Bryan. Powers’ shoulders were turned perpendicular to the line of scrimmage on some reps but didn’t result in a negative play

Patrick Mekari

Solid overall but did get pushed into the backfield on one rep; took all the snaps at C during 7 on 7

Lamar Jackson

Looks more decisive, more consistent ball placement, changes trajectory to suit the situation, throws with more velocity

Trace McSorley

Had a nice throw to Wesley (TD) along the right sideline and another to Floyd. Showed good touch and ball placement on both throws.

Justice Hill

Burst and speed are legit. Solid hands as a pass catcher. Hard to take much away from the run game since practice is ‘thud only’ not live tackle

Jaleel Scott

Couple of a nice high point, over the DB catches. Doing a better job in this year’s camp using his height & length to make plays above the rim.

Miles Boykin

Quiet day, 1 catch that I saw on a hitch route

Mark Andrews

Called for offensive pass interference on one rep during 11v11 (questionable call in my opinion). Made a nice diving catch on out route later during that period.

Michael Floyd

TD catch (from Jackson) in the back of EZ in the tight red zone. Also played on special team’s kick and punt coverage units

Jaylen Smith

Long TD reception down the right sideline, Joe Callahan with perfect ball placement to lead Smith away from DB (bunch of WRs, Lamar & Ingram tan down to celebrate with Smith)

Seth Roberts

Solid, made a few catches against Jalen Ramsey. Adjusted to a ball that was slightly above his head and another that was slightly behind his body.

Defense

Tyus Bowser

Interception off tipped pass that he returned for a TD. Good awareness in coverage to see the tip, catch the ball and finish in the end zone.

Zach Sieler

Good rep aligned at 5 technique (outside shoulder of LT), spun off combo block by Jags LT and LG, found the ball and wrapped up RB

Tim Williams

Had a couple of nice pass rushes, flashed a quick inside counter move. Looks “twitched up” and explosive.

Kenny Young, Tavon Young and Jimmy Smith all got into the backfield unblocked at times. Not allowed to discuss scheme but Jags offensive line seemed to have some communication issues on these reps.
