Ravens Appreciation

Happy Wednesday, Flock!

Normally we celebrate Wednesday because it marks the halfway mark of our week and means we are just a few short days away from Baltimore Ravens football. But this Wednesday is different than others…

Why is that you ask? Because the Baltimore Ravens play tomorrow night against the Miami Dolphins for Thursday Night Football! I love it when that happens.

As long as the injury bug doesn’t sneak up on the Ravens on a short week *fingers crossed* we are always happy to get Baltimore Ravens football. What a treat it is that we get it earlier than Sunday!

But before we get to TNF, let’s go Out to Lunch and look at all things Baltimore Ravens in the world of social media, shall we?

We start with a Justin Tucker appreciation post because, let’s be honest, we can never have too many of these:

This post likely came after Chicago Bears kicker Cario Santos attempted a 65-yard game-winning field goal on Monday night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers and came up well short of the mark. At the same time, Tucker coincidentally made a game-winning field goal this past Sunday to give the Ravens its sixth victory of the season and its second overtime win in 2021.

It’s truly a blessing to have the greatest kicker to ever walk the earth on your team and no amount of appreciation posts will ever be enough to fully incapsulate just how important and amazing Justin Tucker is.

Are you looking for another reason to love Marlon Humphrey? I got you –

All Pro Marlo got this young man signatures from himself, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Tucker for his first ever game at The Bank. You just know that kid is going to treasure that certificate forever and tell his kids about it one day. Marlon is an outstanding individual and went out of his way to make this young fan’s day.

If there’s one person in the media we can count on to give the Baltimore Ravens some love, it’s Good Morning Football’s Peter Schrager. Schrags had this to say about our favorite fullback, Patrick Ricard on Tuesday morning’s episode of GMFB. And who noticed but the man himself:

Schrager has had love for the Baltimore Ravens for quite some time now, earning him a great reputation amongst the Flock. It comes as a surprise to no one that Schrager had more glowing things to say about the team and its players, but it’s so much better to see the most unsung hero of the team get love and hence get some notice from the nation.

Ricard has been named to the Pro Bowl each of the last two seasons, but here’s hoping that he finds some All-Pro votes headed his way. A tip of the cap to Project Pat!

For the first time since 2014, the Baltimore Ravens have a dynamic 1-2 punch at the wide receiver spot in the form of Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman:

These two, both drafted in the first rounds of the 2019 and 2021 drafts respectively, look to be everything the team hoped they would be and it’s honestly surreal considering the horrific luck the Ravens have had when it comes to drafting receivers. These two are changing that narrative quickly and it is helping to round out a complete offense for Baltimore. The sky is the limit for these two youngsters and I have a feeling the best is yet to come after a great outing against Minnesota.

In case you missed it, Lamar Jackson was mic’d up and laughing underneath a pile of very large defenders vs. the Minnesota Vikings, which seems to be very weird. Here’s a clip:

Here’s what’s even funnier – Lamar forgot that he was mic’d up to begin with!

It’s hard not to admire and appreciate such a charismatic and selfless young man. It certainly makes you question the agenda of his harshest critics. More on that in a moment…

Speaking of Lamar, the 24-year-old signal caller is clearly out for blood this year:

Jackson should get a new nickname sometime soon that has something to do with destroying all the narratives that his haters had for him prior to this season. Lamar isn’t playing around and he’s proving that no lead is too much for him to overcome.

Before we go, in honor of the Miami Dolphins game tomorrow night, here’s a reminder of what happened the last time these two teams faced off:

What’s more, here’s how the last three meetings have gone:

Will history repeat itself Thursday night? We shall see, but I do like our chances.

Happy Hump Day, Ravens Flock!
