Man, what is going on this week?! We got like a quarter of the league on the Covid list. All kinds of questionable injuries. It seems like every team across fantasy is going to be facing adversity this week because of this mess. Among these players, is Lamar Jackson. After spraining his ankle last week against the Browns, Jackson hasn’t logged a practice. It is starting to look like he wont be suiting up against the Packers this week. But it’s all good Ravens flock! While I obviously would love to have Jackson leading our offense, Huntley is a starting-caliber, backup QB… if that makes sense? Look, Huntley is a fantastic back-up for this team. He fits the scheme perfectly and his talent speaks for itself. The Ravens still have a shot at the win this week. Don’t give up on them yet!
With all of the Covid and injury news pouring in, I had to push this article back a couple days. Even now, it is still unclear who will be active or not. Last week, last minute in-actives wrecked a few of our calls. We aren’t going to risk that anymore. Anyway, the playoffs are in full swing and were going to bring the heat!
Ravens – Packers Fantasy Outlook
We called it last week! Mark Andrews absolutely popped off. Eleven receptions on 11 targets for 115 yards and a TD. Regardless of which QB ends up under center, this offense has been running through Andrews. If Huntley starts, he is going to continue to look for Andrews early and often, as the teams most reliable pass catcher. It isn’t a great matchup, but if anyone is going to ball out on the Ravens offense, it’s gonna be Andrews.
You can really consider starting any Packers WR against the Ravens this week. Between all of the injuries/Covid and the fact that Aaron Rodgers is under center, it is going to be a blood bath in the secondary. There will be no consistent pressure on Rodgers and the Ravens will not be able to stop Davante Adams, Aaron Jones, and the supporting cast. There is no need to talk about Adams. If you have him, you’re starting him.
Streamin’ around the league
The 49ers will be playing the Falcons and their 27th ranked defense this week and we are going with Jimmy G. Coming off of a 20-point week against the Bengals, Jimmy G will be ripping apart Atlanta’s 29th ranked pass defense. Jimmy has the luxury of being surrounded by studs. Deebo Samuel is having a true break-out season and George Kittle… is George Kittle. The 49ers have a sexy 28 implied point total and the Falcon’s let up the 2nd most fantasy points to QB’s. Even with a bad game script for passing, it will be tough for Jimmy G to not put up at least 17 points this week against this horrid defense.
With Elijah Mitchell ruled out, Jeff Wilson is next in line. Wilson is not as active in the receiving game as we would like. But as we just talked about, the Falcons are really bad on defense. Their rush defense is typically their strongest but DT Grady Jarrett and LB Dante Fowler are questionable to play. Even if they do play, the Falcon’s still let up the 27th most fantasy points to RB’s. The game script will favor the run game and the 49ers will be in the red zone often. It is a good-lookin’ scenario for Wilson.
Urban Meyer is finally out of Jacksonville (bout’ damn time). OC Darrell Bevell is taking over as interim head coach and I expect Shenault to be the main benefactor. With Meyer no longer calling the shots, this game against the Texans is the perfect time for Bevell to give the Jags fans a long-waited win. The Texans are the leagues 28th ranked defense and 27th in pass defense. The Jags are 4.5 point favorites and while the Jags emphasized publicly to get the ball to James Robinson more, I expect Bevell to at least attempt, to ignite Lawrence’s disappointing rookie season. That includes looking for Shenault more often as the teams best RAC receiver.
David Njoku (If Austin Hooper is out)
If Austin Hooper ends up as an in-active this week, Njoku has a fantastic matchup to take advantage of against the Raiders. The Raiders rank 28th in pass defense and give up the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing TE’s. The Browns are 2.5 point favorites, but that needs to be tampered if all of the starters on the Covid list do not play, even with the game rescheduled. Njoku would be the primary TE with Hooper out and if Landry isn’t removed from the Covid list, it is very possible that Njoku leads this team in targets. If Hooper ends up active, please don’t play Njoku.

Tyler Lockett (if he plays)
