Offseason news continues to be rather slow for the Ravens, which, truthfully, is a blessing in disguise. As much as I dread the constant “WhEN iS LaMaR coMInG bAcK?” content, at least we aren’t being bombarded with constant news about injury updates, and I hope is stays that way. Even this early into their offseason programs, some teams haven’t been so lucky.

I wince when I see updates like that, because it was about this time last year that Ravens faithful started getting peppered with those kinds of updates.

By comparison, as nice as it would be to have Lamar Jackson in the building, I welcome this kind of content instead.

Lamar’s most recent social media posts showed him continuing to work out individually down in Broward, and I can’t say I’m mad at the results. I’m eagerly awaiting when his updated measurements are posted on the NFL’s website, because Lamar looks like he’s packed on considerable muscle.

Based on the looks of it, those muscles aren’t just for show, either.

My favorite subplot of these posts was the resurfacing of a similar throw made by Kyle Boller, of all people, and our own Adam Bonaccorsi hooked us up with this throwback.

Elsewhere, as we whittle away the days waiting for actual football to come back, a lot of fans will settle for the next best thing: Madden. Last week, EA Sports announced the cover art for Madden ‘23, and they got this one right with a classy callback to the original John Madden Football from 1988, as well as a few other tributes to the late great coach.

The cover art may have been a real crowd-pleaser, but a few of our own weren’t so happy about the recently-released gameplay footage. It wasn’t so much the gameplay that they took umbrage with, but their… erm, cameos.

As long as life doesn’t imitate art when fall rolls around, I think we’d all be happy to just chalk this one up to EA taking some artistic license with the source material.

I’d love to come to Marlon’s defense a little bit more, but there’s only so much I can stand up for him when his social media presence looks like this.

Marlon, you’re on a second contract here, you’ve been here long enough to know better than that. Stop being a bad influence on Proche.

I may be god-awful at golf, but I can’t knock the people that play it. I’m eagerly awaiting a potential Twitter feud between Marlon and the LPGA Tour.

His social media presence may be cringe-inducing, but at least he makes a better representation of himself in pers- OH, COME ON!

Marlon Humphrey bike

As inescapable as Marlon’s social media gaffes feel, I can’t be on Twitter to police him all the time. That’s why I’m asking you, Ravens Flock, to bully him when it’s called for with the hastily-made meme below. I have a feeling we’re going to get a lot of use out of it.
