Last week, I gave Marlon Humphrey a hard time for using his social media to be… well, Marlon. It’s hard to stay mad at him, though, when he gives us news like this: ladies and gentlemen, QB1 is in the building.

I am firmly in the group of people who believe that this should’ve been a complete non-story. After all, Coach Harbaugh had said he fully expected Lamar to be back for mandatory team activities, and to this point, Lamar had only opted out of voluntary OTAs. Still, there was just enough uncertainty around the situation to feel uneasy, so I can understand some concern from the fanbase. Holdouts among star players are becoming more and more mainstream, and it does the heart good to see Lamar back in the building with headlines like this one elsewhere.

Sure, there are going to be residual ponderings over Lamar’s contract situation from the media at large, like this one…

But I can only imagine how insufferable the sports media cycle would have been if Lamar’s flight had gotten delayed or he’d been stuck in traffic.

Marlon continued to embrace his inner journalist a la “Studio 44” and brought the fans some more smiles by showing the first glimpses of Marcus Williams and Kyle Fuller in their new threads.

Not to be outdone, though, a few more of our guys gave us a sneak peek behind the scenes on Media Day.

The guys were all decked out for the team promos, and the photos and video clips from yesterday will be displayed on the big screens at M&T and on graphics all year long. If these don’t get you excited for the season to come, I’m not sure what will.

With as much infighting as I’ve seen from the Ravens fanbase this offseason, it was nice to have yesterday to enjoy positive news and not see the fans cannibalizing each other. The same can’t be said for every fanbase, though, and I can’t say I had this one on my offseason bingo card. The Titans had a weird Twitter beef unravel recently that dragged former Ravens wideout Derrick Mason into the conversation

For some background, A.J. Brown’s involvement in the blockbuster trade to the Eagles is still a sore subject with Titans fans. Brown posted a seemingly innocent musing about weather forecasts on Twitter, and it obviously didn’t sit well with at least one fan. Brown fired back at the fan…

Which prompted a swift response around social media of fans reminding Brown of Mason’s accomplishments with the franchise. Mason was drafted by Tennessee, when they were still the Oilers, in 1997. Mason recorded over 6,000 receiving yards and earned two Pro Bowl selections with the franchise before signing with the Ravens as a free agent in 2005. Given the accolades, Mason seemed to take exception to Brown’s comment, but it looked like he was in better spirits with some time to digest it.

Derrick, if you’re reading this, not only would I never besmirch your legacy as our franchise’s all-time leader in receiving yards, but rest assured that I would NEVER disrespect the sanctity of a man’s Home Depot run.

Do better, A.J.
