John Harbaugh is SHOCKED

The Baltimore Ravens are having fun this summer. You can see it in how they attacked training camp, how they played (and won) their first two preseason games and now you can see it behind the scenes in another episode of Wired, which has become a personal favorite of mine.

It’s so enjoyable to see how (and how much) this team bonds. I can only imagine the fun that another season of Hard Knocks in Baltimore would bring.

The best part of this clip is easily John Harbaugh’s reaction to Kyle Hamilton’s $9 million signing bonus, the highest rookie bonus in franchise history.

It’s unknown exactly how much Harbaugh makes, but judging by his reaction, I’m sure he didn’t have $9 million sitting in his bank account at 21 years old.

Don’t ask Ed Reed about his signing bonus, though. When asked about Lamar Jackson’s contract extension on Instagram Live, Reed responded “Never talk about another man’s pocket. Never discuss another man’s financial situation unless you’re an advisor.”

Reed did offer some praise for Hamilton, calling him a “great young man,” but is clearly trying to avoid putting Hall-of-Fame pressure or expectations on the rookie safety by drawing direct comparisons.

I wonder what Ray Lewis would have to say about Jackson’s contract situation, given the fact that he tested free agency in 2009, but ultimately re-signed with the Ravens.

Videos like this are a main reason I’m not worried about Jackson leaving. He has unfinished business in Baltimore, unkept promises to bring another Super Bowl to the franchise.

The Ravens don’t exactly plan on starting Tyler Huntley, either, despite Harbaugh’s confidence in him.

I’m not sure that I’m sold on Huntley as an NFL starter yet, but the last bit he needs to convince me of is commanding an offense of his own. In other words, he needs a true opportunity to take control of a team as its starter to see what he could bring on a weekly basis.

Huntley will always get plenty of snaps in the preseason, especially behind Jackson, who should probably never play a preseason game again.

And finally, a meme:

Look, I get the value of having one of your guards have some experience playing offensive tackle. Giving Phillips preseason reps at tackle prepares the offensive line for a worst-possible scenario later this year. But man, it is tough to watch, especially when I just want to keep him at left guard.
