Looking at the Baltimore Ravens stats performance and player roster this season, it’s not hard to tell that they have an excellent analytical coaching team. However, they have not been all that explosive in all games.
Currently, they sit top in the AFC North division after five games, having managed three wins and two losses.
To fans, this performance might not have been good enough, as they have yet to prove to be a formidable team going into the season. If you’re a Baltimore fan, you likely feel the team has managed to spare your blushes by winning convincingly and losing based on close calls. But such is the nature of the league.
There’s yet to be a differentiating factor between the top three teams in the AFC North division. And after the fixture against the Bengals, which was the first time this season that either of these three sides faced off against each other, some might argue that.
Before the tie, NFL spreads from popular bookmakers predicted the matchup to go down with an overtime win or tie at the end of regulation time. However, it turned out to be the night for the Baltimore Ravens, as Justin Tucker saved the day with 13 points from a field goal to win the fixture. Each side scored a touchdown to end the game 19-13 in favor of the Ravens.
To solidly their team, here are what the Ravens need to do:
Shoulder up their Defense
Ravens defense is currently among the worst in the NFL. However, in the game against the Bengals, they controlled the tempo by winning tackles and getting the ball off the bounce.
This showed they must have tried to improve their defense in practice sessions. But one can only hope they put up a sure display every game week and not just game week five.
Race up the Offense
The offense seems to be where the Raven’s strength lies. With Lamar Jackson as quarterback, they dare to run at defenses and throw precise long-range passes for false downs or touchdowns. But they must always take advantage of every chance they get, especially with their poor defense, to avoid rubbishing their exploit.
Although the season has only just begun, Baltimore Ravens have already displayed flashes of inspiration from the teams of last year.
They now have the choice to play either as well as they did against the Bengals or as poorly as they did in their last two losses. If they decide on the latter, I’m pretty sure you will be disappointed as a fan.
