Harbaugh Vows to Fix Team’s Woes
Even with a favorable schedule, few people expected the Ravens to run the table and win their final eight games.
The four-game winning streak came to a halt in Week 12 in a 28-27 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The loss magnified some of the weaknesses of the Ravens, who have struggled inside the red zone and have blown fourth-quarter leads in all four of their losses.
The Ravens’ had to settle for field goals on their first three trips inside the 20, and that proved to be costly because they blew a 9-point lead and allowed 18 points in the final quarter.
Coach John Harbaugh has vowed to get those problems corrected. The Ravens are now in a dogfight to win the AFC North with the Bengals keeping pace and playing better each week.
We’re looking at every play, every technique,” Harbaugh said. “But there’s a psychological aspect to it, too, and that’s the other part of if that you try to address.
“But you can’t live in it. We’ve got to just focus on football, focus on the details of what we do and come out there and play our next play and give it our best shot. I’m very confident that we’re going to do what we need to do, but you’ve got to go do it.”
Was that really a touchdown? The real culprits for the loss in Jacksonville. Where is 99? The #Ravens play-calling and John Harbaugh's culpability. This and more hot takes following the Ravens at #Jaguars from @RSRLombardi https://t.co/wzrk5UdGQF

Frustration also appears to be boiling over for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
After another delay-of-game penalty, Jackson appeared ready to give the football another boot, but that could have risked a penalty and he thought better of it.
He was prickly with his postgame comments following the loss to Jacksonville.
Then, after a fan Tweeted a criticism of him on Twitter, Jackson aggressively responded to the Tweet, which has since gone viral and has since been deleted. Nonetheless, the response made national news.
Harbaugh said Jackson’s profanity-laced response was out of character.
“I talked to him. I heard about it last night, talked to him this morning,” Harbaugh said. “I talked to him on the plane too a little bit, but that was about other things and things about the game. I talk to these guys … We talk a lot about football, but we also talk a little bit about that stuff too, what goes on in terms of the media and everything. Really, you just beg guys not to get into the Twitter world right after the game, especially after a loss. It’s never going to be positive. It’s not going to be a nice place.
That’s kind of reflected in Lamar’s response because what he said was just so out of character for him; that’s not the way he speaks, that’s not the way he talks, it’s not the words he ever uses. I’ve never heard him say things like that before, but … he wants to win.”
The Ravens are 7-4 and still control their playoff fate. However, they can’t have distractions and have the season unravel.
They will have to play better, especially closing out games. That process begins in Week 13 against the Broncos and their stout defense.
“We have to come back, and we have to get this next one and do everything in our power to get it done,” Harbaugh said. “So, that’s where we’re at.”

These problems have existed ever since Harbaugh became HC and as long as he remains in that position, nothing is likely to change except……coordinators, for a change (pun intended!)!
