Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, happy Wednesday! It’s not just any Wednesday, however, because the Baltimore Ravens play the Pittsburgh Steelers this week! That’s right, it’s Hate Week, people!
But before we get to this weekend’s game, we gotta check in on the Flock and see what is spinning through the Twitter-verse. Come on down and join me on this Hate Week edition of Out to Lunch as we catch up on our Baltimore Ravens and see who has what to say!
An official update for Lamar Jackson’s injury status:
Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson suffered a sprained PCL during Sunday’s win over the Denver Broncos, per league sources. PCL injuries often sideline players 1-to-3 weeks and Ravens’ HC John Harbaugh already has said Jackson is “less likely” to play Sunday vs. the Steelers. pic.twitter.com/4ra4KDuUdQ

Sounds to me like the Ravens avoided disaster.
Jackson was injured around this time last season, as well. Baltimore was 8-3 and primed for a playoff push before losing their final six games to end the season under .500 and miss the playoffs. We certainly hope that history is not repeating itself here…
Regardless, a knee injury to your starting quarterback is never a good thing. Hopefully, Jackson can heal from this quickly and effectively, but the last thing the Ravens should do is force him back onto the field before he is 100% ready to go.
It feels like the Ravens have been on the losing end of history this season, but that wasn’t the case this past Sunday against the Denver Broncos:
“NFL teams were 0-206 since 1995 when committing two turnovers, forcing none and failing to exceed 10 points, according to Pro Football Reference. The Ravens made it 1-206 by beating the Broncos”

With how things have gone this year, it feels like the script should’ve been reversed in the Broncos favor. Nonetheless, a win is a win!
We love seeing our players messing with each other, and Marlon Humphrey took no prisoners when he put this post out on Instagram yesterday:

Poor James Proche… the man was just executing the play that was called and has gotten backlash from the fans and apparently even his own teammates won’t show him any mercy!
Hate Week
It’s finally here! The Ravens face off with the Steelers for the first time this season and what better way to kick it off than with two of the rivalry’s greatest players driving around Baltimore, Maryland together?

Seriously, who would’ve ever thought that these two of all players would be spending any sort of time together?!
Considering Hines Ward delivered one of the biggest hits I’ve ever seen in my life (Ed note: It was a cheap shot) to Ed Reed, it’s insane to see the two of them so civil. But then again, that’s what makes this rivalry so great is the amount of respect these two organizations have for each other.
Speaking on this rivalry, how about one of the greatest trash talkers to ever grace it talking to the Steelers fans in Pittsburgh?

31 teams hated Terrell Suggs when he played football for the Baltimore Ravens, but perhaps no team’s fan base hated T-Sizzle more than the Steelers. Suggs was constantly bantering with Steelers fans, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Suggs made the rivalry 10x better and even more personal.
Honestly, I don’t think anyone could put this rivalry in better words than the way Mike Tomlin just did:

"It takes two to tango, and they're a great dance partner."— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) December 6, 2022
Before we go, shout out to Tim and Chuck for telling it as it is to the Flock!
I just want to enjoy ravens football. Sorry most of you are “done” with the season but still got games left. I love my team and will support them till the end

If you gave up on the Ravens season… please let fans that haven’t gave up on the season like myself enjoy the rest of it. I like us.

Win, lose, or tie, I am a Ravens fan until the day I die! Have a great week, Ravens Flock, and make sure to give your Steelers friends a hard time!
