Happy Hump Day, Flock! Filling in for Aidan for the next two Wednesdays while he enjoys a vacation in Hawaii. Must be nice!
Speaking of long flights…first things first: we got a bit of news early this morning regarding the Ravens’ 2023 schedule:
Surprise‼️
We're headed to London for Week 6‼️

I know a lot of Ravens fans are bummed that the team is losing their trip to Nashville, a favorite destination for Flock travelers. In addition, we all have such wonderful memories of the team’s last trip overseas, that it was tough to not groan a bit when we saw this news. It’s not at Wembley this time around, so at least there’s that. Let’s hope for a much more representative game from our team this time around (and no uh…extracurriculars.)
Here’s one group that’s stoked about this news though: Our UK Flock!
We’ve been expecting you, @Ravens. You bring the football. We’ll bring the noise. #ravensflock #ukravens pic.twitter.com/kwgfvy1vJI

The full schedule release is tomorrow night. One thing we do know for sure is that the Ravens travel…a LOT.
Ravens were among the teams that had the least travel mileage last year. That will change this year. They have the trip to London to face the Titans along with West Coast trips to play the 49ers, Cardinals and Chargers.

Next up, I’d like to direct your attention to this awesome video by All 22 on YouTube. This is a Ravens fan who gets as deep into the X’s and O’s as anyone out there, and this video in particular is well worth your time.
In it, he says that, under Todd Monken, the Ravens’ offensive philosophy hasn’t just done a 180 – that’s not enough. He says it’s done a 540. He describes how Monken’s offensive attacks defenses based on their personnel and how they line up. Doesn’t that sound like a wonderful change of approach? The video goes into just how different this is from what we saw for years from the Greg Roman offense.

Moving along, here’s a quick cap update from Brian McFarland:
New Raven Rock Ya-Sin’s 1-yr deal is $4M base deal, which includes a $1.08M base salary, a $920K RosterBonus & a $2M SigningBonus. There are 4 added void yrs, so there will be a $1.6M Cap charge in 2024. His 2023 Cap # is $2.4M. Based on reports, there will be $ 2M in incentives.

And finally, an offseason workout is going on in Owings Mills at the moment.

I was going to go support the Orioles tonight but the conditioning test had other plans. I passed but I’m tired boss

Doesn’t look like any pads or even helmets, but it’s exciting to see the NFL offseason moving along apace regardless.
Here’s hoping your Wednesday is a good one, Flock.

FYI……. According to reports, their extravagantly paid QB has been a no show at voluntary workouts!
