The Ravens put together a statement win against the Detroit Lions in Week 7, 38-6. RSR staff react to the win here:

Well, this was a beat down. I predicted the Lions to win, but I did feel if the Ravens won, they would blow them out. I felt that way because of the way everyone was talking up the Lions. I felt the Ravens could take it personally and want to show everyone that they are the better team…and that’s what happened.
Lamar continues to look great in this offense and had they not had the one fumble, they score more points too.
One thing not being talked about with respect to the defense is how this is the second year in the Mike Mac system. Everyone is more comfortable in it and they are dominating.
Great win.

On a day where Terrell Suggs went into the Ravens’ Ring of Honor against the Detroit Lions, it was Lamar Jackson who “had malice in his heart,” playing a near flawless game from the opening whistle. The Ravens’ offensive line also deserves major props, keeping Jackson upright and allowing him to make those incredible plays to stake his team to their insurmountable lead. Todd Monken and Mike Macdonald were each in their respective bags, and it was a pleasure to watch.
This was the kind of dominant win that’s been too few and far between over the past couple seasons. You don’t want to make too grand of proclamations after it, just as you don’t want to be too down in the dumps after a loss like the two we’ve seen so far in 2023. How about breaking the Lions’ streak of consecutive games scoring 20+ points?!
Let’s enjoy this, be thankful there were no injuries sustained, and hope the squad can build on it.

In our Bold Predictions piece, I’d said that I thought this one would be a shootout coming down to a big defensive play for either side.
Lol.
Don’t get me wrong, the Ravens defense played their part all day in keeping the Lions from being able to get any momentum going, but their biggest influence on the day was putting the ball back in Lamar Jackson’s hands. LJ looked like the best version of himself, and the Lions defense got shredded all day. Mark Andrews was more involved in the offense this week, and he went off to celebrate Tight Ends’ day.
What a great win, one that had the feeling of a whooping that the Ravens needed to put on somebody. I feel a heck of a lot better moving forward, especially with how improved the red zone offense looked today.

This is going to sustain me through the whole week. I may smile non-stop until the next kick-off. This is the 2019 Ravens coming back to life. The Ravens dominated a good team and this was too fun. Nothing over analytical, this was just a party.
The Ravens could do whatever they wanted offensively. Lamar Jackson was phenomenal. That play when he danced around for almost 10 seconds before throwing a TD was a thing I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Gus Edwards and Mark Andrews had huge performances – truest of the truest Ravens. Pat Ricard even had a big catch.
The Lions had one of the most prolific offenses in the league. The Ravens held them to six points and they hurt their pride. This is what contenders do. This was Super Bowl caliber football. We need to see this continue. Nothing bad to say. This was more fun than we thought we were allowed to have.

This was one of those “best-case scenario” type of games.
Lamar Jackson was brilliant from the start, and Odell Beckham Jr. Zay Flowers, Nelson Agholor, Rashod Bateman and, especially Mark Andrews, all made the kind of plays we all hoped they’d be able to make this season. Gus Edwards chipped in heavily, and the offensive line really played a nice game against a very tough opponent.
Defensively, this team was ferocious — as has become their identity to this point of the season.
Big statement game. Take a bow.

This was a dominant performance by the Ravens. When they hired Monken and signed OBJ and drafted Flowers, this is the type of game you dreamed about. Lamar was excellent with the only mistake being another miscommunication with Hill on another fumble. Lamar spread out the weapons today and everyone did something good.
The defense was all over the Lions today and they simply had no answer. Mike Mac out-coached Ben Johnson all day. The pressure was there, the sacks were there and it was a nightmare for Jared Goff.
What a day for the Ravens and now they get to take on the 1-5 Cardinals.

This game was reminiscent of a 2019 blowout. Dominant on both sides of the ball from start to finish. It seems the Ravens fixed all of their flaws for this game. I want to point out that Harbaugh set the tone early going for it on 4th down and Lamar getting the rushing touchdown. If the Ravens failed the critics would be out in full force against Harbaugh. However, when he makes it he isn’t given enough credit. We just got a glimpse of how good the Ravens can be this season.

Lamar Jackson along with everyone was great!!
About time !
O Line was outstanding! It well may be pass pro is their strong suit – over run blocking. Today, they established the pass, and ran after opening it up.
“I predicted the Lions to win, but I did feel if the Ravens won, they would blow them out.” Rob, if the writing doesn’t work out you might consider a career in politics.
Mike MacDonald is going to get a head coaching job and it better be with the Ravens.
A long long time ago there was an assistant to Don Shula his name was Chuck Knoll.
Where’s ArmchairQB? Really quiet in these comments without our resident doomsayer finding the dark cloud in every silver lining.
Best game in a long time! Showed what they’re really capable of! Hopefully, they can keep the momentum all the way to the playoffs and even beyond! They even went so far as to actually opt to receive when they won the coin toss, which helped set the positive tone for the entire game!
What a game. Best we’ve played in a long time. I like where the player’s heads are at. The Roquan quotes are not only great but true. Lamar showed me that he is definitely focused. During the game, reaming Justice Hill for the fumble. He needs to do that being the leader of the team. Must be accountability. Lamar is a lot different than previous years. He sits and waits for something to materialize instead of just taking off running at the first sight that something broke down. After the game, he wasn’t clowning or joking. Just all business like with the quote “We did what we were supposed to do”. Very, Very impressive to say the least. They could’nt have picked a better day to come all together with T-Sizz getting inducted into the Ring of Honor.
