Versatile Player Boosts Baltimore’s O-Line
The Baltimore Ravens signed veteran T Austin Howard to a three-year deal, general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Friday afternoon. Additionally, Baltimore waived (injured) TE Crockett Gillmore.
A 6-7, 330-pounder, Howard enters his eighth NFL season after spending the past three years with the Oakland Raiders. Seeing action in 76 career games (72 starts), he has also played for the Philadelphia Eagles (2010) and New York Jets (2011-13).
In 2011, Howard spent time on the Ravens’ practice squad from September to November before being signed to New York’s active roster.
Howard is a versatile player who has the ability to play multiple positions on the offensive line. Of his 72 games started, 55 have come at right tackle, 16 at right guard and one at left tackle.
