#1 RATED
Ingle Martin – Furman University
Ht: 6’2”
Wt: 220
Complete QB PPI Rating: 73.78
What Complete QB Likes About Him: Very strong arm – good velocity on ball/ Athletically gifted – skilled punter and placekicker, as well/ Transferred from University of Florida prior to 2004 season/ Led the Paladins to the I-AA National Semifinals (a 29-23 loss)/ Ability to throw deep ball with accuracy and proper trajectory/ Impressive overall performance at Scouting Combine, especially with footwork/ Arm slot/release are mostly sound and consistent/ Good speed (4.68 40 yd. dash at Combine).
What Complete QB Does Not Like: There are times when Martin’s delayed decision-making resulted in turnovers (20 TD-13 INT in 2005)/ Will need to focus on maintaining composure in pocket at NFL level – Martin has demonstrated a tendency to break pocket prematurely.
What Might Happen: Martin will likely be drafted, especially given his impressive Combine performance, but it will be on Day 2. Because he appeared to react slowly to reads at times on the I-AA level, Martin will need to land with an NFL team that does not need him to step on the field anytime soon.
MORE I-AA STANDOUTS
Erik Meyer – Eastern Washington
Bruce Eugene – Grambling State
