OWINGS MILLS — The Baltimore Ravens placed eight-year starting offensive guard Edwin Mulitalo on injured reserve Tuesday following successful surgery to repair his torn right triceps tendon, signing offensive guard Ikechuku Ndukwe to take his place on the active roster.
The 6-foot-4, 338-pound Ndukwe (Northwestern) was signed off the Washington Redskins’ practice squad.
Ndukwe, whose name is pronounced E-chu-koo N-dook-way, had a prior stint with the New Orleans Saints’ last season as an undrafted rookie free agent. His addition gives the Ravens eight offensive linemen on the active roster.
Jason Brown, last year’s fourth-round draft pick out of North Carolina, has replaced Mulitalo in the starting lineup at left guard.
