The Baltimore Ravens agreed in principle to a one-year extension with veteran QB Kyle Boller, GM Ozzie Newsome announced today.
Boller has seen action in 41 games, starting 34 in his first four seasons. He was originally selected by the Ravens in the 1st round (19th overall) of the 2003 NFL draft.
Boller has completed 578 of 1,036 career passes for 6,103 yards and 36 TDs, while compiling an 18-16 record as a starter. He saw action in 5 games in 2006, completing a career-high 60% of his passes (33 of 55) for 485 yards and 5 TDs. His 104.0 QB rating was the 3rd-highest for a backup in the NFL last season.
“I am ecstatic,†said Boller. “Baltimore is the place I really want to be. The Ravens have the best organization in the NFL, and I feel very fortunate that I’m going to continue to be a part of it. I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Bisciotti, Ozzie Newsome and coach Billick. I’m thankful for the confidence they’ve shown in me, and hopefully, I can play here for a long time.â€
