OWINGS MILLS — Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson hasn’t only been interviewed for the Oakland Raiders’ offensive coordinator position over the past few days.

Jackson is also meeting with the Raiders regarding the head-coaching position currently held by Tom Cable.

Jackson remained at the Raiders’ team headquarters Thursday night as his interview with team officials continued.

A former offensive coordinator with the Atlanta Falcons and the Washington Redskins, Jackson has been instrumental in the development of quarterback Joe Flacco. Jackson could either wind up as a potential replacement for Cable or operate as his offensive coordinator.

Jackson, 45, has previously worked on the West Coast with previous stints at USC, Cal-Berkeley and Cal-State Fullerton. He hasn’t been a head coach previously.

Raiders owner Al Davis is hoping to revive the career of quarterback bust JaMarcus Russell. Cable benched Russell this past season, and the team finished 5-11 overall.

The Raiders have yet to say anything publicly regarding their coaching situation other than denying interviews have taken place with Jim Fassel and Marc Trestman.

Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, the brother of Ravens coach John Harbaugh, had been rumored to have spoken with the Raiders regarding Cable’s job. However, his agent, Jack Bechta, has denied that speculation.
