OWINGS MILLS — Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Troy Smith has signed his one-year, $1.101 million restricted free agent tender.
Smith was assigned an original round low tender.
Drafted in the fifth round out of Ohio State, the former Heisman Trophy winner has been seeking a trade. However, that wish hasn’t materialized into anything concrete.
The Cleveland native had repeatedly lobbied for a trade through his former agent, Ralph Cindrich.
He recently switched representation, hiring Cleveland-based agent Neil Cornrich.
