Tight end Todd Heap isn’t holding a grudge against New England Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather.

Meriweather crushed Heap with a flagrant helmet-to-helmet hit that cost the safety a $50,000 fine.

"It is what it was, everybody saw it and there’s no need for me to comment on it now," Heap said. "I think he’ll learn his lesson by that. It’s not my place to enforce anything, but, at the same time, looking back on it and seeing the hit, it was something that I think could have been avoided."

Heap said he doesn’t remember Meriweather apologizing to him after he game, but said he has no hard feelings.

"I don’t think it was anything personal," said Heap, who has trained with Meriweather in the offseason. "I’ve known him for a little while. Like I said, I don’t think he meant anything by it. I think he was trying to play football, but he made a bad decision."

Heap suffered a neck injury on the play, but expects to play. He’s questionable on the injury report, but was upgraded to full participation on the final injury report of the week.

"It was a tough week, but I’ll be ready to go," Heap said. "I’m feeling relatively good right now. We’ll see how it feels Sunday, but right now I expect to play."

INJURY UPDATE: The Ravens are expected to activate free safety Ed Reed from the physically unable to perform list today.

The Ravens would need to make a corresponding roster move. There are indications Reed will play Sunday after spending the first six weeks sidelined after undergoing offseason hip surgery.

"He’s had a really good week," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "I don’t want to speak for him. It looks good. From a coaching standpoint, I’m going to probably be cautious."

The Ravens ruled out safety Tom Zbikowski due to a bruised heel. With Zbikowski out, the Ravens have Ken Hamlin and Haruki Nakamura in reserve behind Reed.

"Fortunately, we have enough depth where we feel good about our safety situation," Harbaugh said.

Chris Carr is likely to return punts with Zbikowski out.

Receiver David Reed (thigh) is questionable, increasing the chances that Josh Wilson (hamstring) will return punts. Tackle Tony Moll (eye) returned to practice. Receiver Marcus Smith (back) was upgraded to full participation. He was limited the previous two days.

The following players are probable: Moll, Smith, running back Ray Rice (ankle), linebackers Jarret Johnson (back) and Edgar Jones (bruised thigh), wide receiver Derrick Mason (ankle, finger), safety Haruki Nakamura (back), Wilson (hamstring) and defensive end Paul Kruger (sprained left medial collateral ligament).

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills ruled out starting offensive tackle Cornell Green (knee) and cornerback Terrence McGee (back).

AYANBADEJO STILL WAITING: Pro Bowl special teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo returned to practice this week, but it remains uncertain if he’ll be activated prior to the Buffalo game.

Ayanbadejo has been sidelined since last October when he tore his quadriceps tendon. Ayanbadejo said he’ll meet with Harbaugh to discuss a plan of action.

"I’m feeling good," Ayanbadejo said. "Harbaugh’s going to sit down with me Saturday or Sunday and we’re going to figure out what we’re going to do. At this point in time, it’s not a yes or a no, but we’re going to figure it out."
