OWINGS MILLS –Illinois junior defensive tackle Corey Liuget has conducted a private workout for the Baltimore Ravens.
He visited the New York Jets on Wednesday and has previously visited the Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Rams.
The first-round draft prospect has previously worked out for several teams, including the Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots.
Liuget is regarded as a legitimate candidate to be drafted as high as the Rams’ 14th overall pick.
His versatility as a defensive lineman who can line up as a three-technique, five-technique or a traditional nose guard has boosted his draft stock.
He has accepted an invitation to attend the NFL draft in New York at Radio City Music Hall.
Last season, Liuget was named second-team All-Big Ten Conference as he recorded 63 tackles, 12 1/2 for losses, 4 1/2 sacks with 10 quarterback hurries.
In the Texas Bowl win over Baylor, he registered five tackles, 2 1/2 for losses and a sack.
As a sophomore, the Miami native had eight tackles for losses. 2 1/2 sacks and three pass deflections.
For his career, he finished with 125 tackles, 25 1/2 for losses and 8 1/2 sacks.
A blue-chip recruit, Liuget chose Illinois over Miami, LSU and Florida State.
