I will be the first to admit that I am addicted to Twitter and that it has become a major part of the way fans, media and players follow and comment on the sports they watch. There really is no social networking tool that is bigger than twitter when it comes to information and how the fans and the media use it to communicate.
On any given Sunday things begin to heat up around 6 or 7am as both fans and media begin to tweet about information they are getting about the games. This is not just a group of fans talking smack about how the Steelers are going to crush the Titans at 1pm. No this is serious reporting from all areas of the media.
Nationally the NFL Network, ESPN, FOX, CBS, NBC all have a battery of people sending out NFL news about everything to who is going to be on their pregame shows to quotes from their analysts and last minute suggestions on who play and who to sit this week on your fantasy teams.
There are well over a thousand top sports columnists and broadcast analysts tweeting in rapid progression on any given Sunday about the NFL (and other sports). So how do you find out information that is about the teams that you want to follow?
Actually Twitter does have ways to do that for instance if you are a Redskins fan then you go to @RedskinsTweets and they do a great job of giving you a constant stream on all things about the Burgundy and Gold.
Who are the two most followed Redskins on Twitter? Well that would be Chris Cooley whose handle is @thecooleyzone and Brian Orakpo who you can follow at @rak98.
But the same is the case for all 32 teams, there are both fan and players information that streams constantly via Twitter.
In fact Twitter covers all of the NFL teams no matter who you wish to follow and a complete list on the team Twitter handles located below.
There are a number NFL players on Tweeter and they are Tweeting during the week as well as other athletes from the NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA, NASCAR and just about any sport you can imagine are talking football.
Best way to find your favorite broadcaster, network of athlete on Twitter? Just Google their name and add “on Twitter” and you will get it.
